THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
I need support; l am about
to lose my mind and all its might
as people get so proud of dirt
and their behaviour brings no doubt.
They're getting proud of useless sex,
the futile act without results.
Despite all that, they do not care
as values have lost all their flare.
What's great is just to find a mate,
same sex or not, but for one night
to have some pleasure for them both
with nothing more to have a child.
Where is your sense of sin, poor man,
old fashioned morals and their blame?
How pure life was when parents found
In home and you their greatest aim.

Leaving aside the question of whether those who do not agree with you that the sole purpose of making love is (and should only be) to conceive children have really lost all their values, let alone that sex between people who have no interest in making babies is futile and useless, did you mean "flair"?
Snuffing Out Confusion Between 'Flare' and 'Flair'
Sorting through their misspellings with style.
What to Know
Flair is only used as a noun referring to a natural ability, an inclination toward something, or an attractive or stylish quality. Meanwhile, flare can be used as both a noun and verb. As a noun, it refers to fire or light, something that bursts outward (such as anger), or something that widens. The verb usage corresponds to the noun meaning "to produce light or fire" as well as "to burst or spread out."

Leaving aside the question of whether western civilization is facing its imminent demise, what is your evidence that valuing one-night stands and sex for pleasure over sex for procreation is what is doing it in,
And how is your puritanically moralizing submission "upbeat"?

Doesn't a nation need its own people to build its own civilization and power? If it brings foreigners, they will destroy it. Look what England and other European countries suffer. Where is their ancient power? ISN'T SEX FOR REPRODUCTION OF PEOPLE OR JUST FOR PLEASURE? Can a country without values survive?
Re: Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
"Doesn't a nation need its own people to build its own civilization and power?"
Power is not solely dependent upon the size of a country's population or its birth rate. And there are plenty of nations that built their power using people from countries other than their own to do so.
"ISN'T SEX FOR REPRODUCTION OF PEOPLE OR JUST FOR PLEASURE?"
The proper phrasing of this question is "Is sex for reproduction or for pleasure?". So once again, your poor grasp of English is showing.
In any case, you've posted a false dichotomy. It isn't an either/ or since sex can be "for" both.
"Can a country without values survive?"
The issue is whether no longer holding to the idea that sex is solely for reproduction (which, BTW, no country has ever totally abandoned) is -- let alone ever has been -- the cause of a country's decline.

It is the light of a torch or values that that can have permanent effects, and keep lighting in your mind, whether it is temporary or permanent. Values don't have to shine all the time for sensitive people, but those who have lost their senses nothing will affect them.

But you haven't shown that it's no longer believing that [that that??] sex is solely for reproduction that people no longer are guided by **any** values or have lost all sense of what is to be valued.
Are you really saying that those who believe that sex has (and can and should be used for) purposes other than procreation (e.g., creating bonds of intimacy and expressing love) do not believe that they should be compassionate, caring, just, fair-minded, loyal, generous, honest, and trustworthy?
P. S. Should married women who are not (or who are longer because of menopause) capable of bearing children not have (or stop having) sex with their husbands? Should men who know that their wives are not (or are no longer) fertile adopt celibacy? Given the validity of your claim that the sole purpose for having sex is to procreate, you are obliged to say "yes".

I don't agree with you about your phrasing my sentences differently. You give different meanings. The meaning l intend is more accurate.

"I don't agree with you about your phrasing my sentences differently. You give different meanings. The meaning l intend is more accurate."
Leaving aside the fact that in my message above I rephrased ONE sentence of yours, not more than one as your use of the word "sentenceS' implies I did, the issue is not whether one meaning is more accurate than another, even if that could be the case It's whether what you have written actually expresses what you meant to say, whatever that was.
If you meant to ask "Isn't the [primary] purpose of sex the reproduction of people, not the gaining of pleasure", your sentence "ISN'T SEX FOR REPRODUCTION OF PEOPLE OR JUST FOR PLEASURE?" doesn't accurately, never mind clearly, convey your intent. To do so you would have to write "Isn't sex really/essentially/properly for producing children? Or IS it truly only for pleasure?".
The same is true if you meant to state "sex is not just for pleasure; It is for [the] reproduction of people". ""ISN'T SEX FOR REPRODUCTION OF PEOPLE OR JUST FOR PLEASURE" is NOT a felicitous, let alone a comprehensible, way of doing so.

Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
You ask:
Where is your sense of sin, poor man,
old fashioned morals and their blame?
It is not clear why the man who doesn't regard sex for pleasure as sinful is "poor" or why we should accept your judgment that he is. Your assertion that the abandonment of these old-fashioned values (i.e., that sex should occur only within marriage and only for procreation) leads to the collapse of civilization rather than a strengthening of the bonds that hold civilization together and are the foundation for great art and music and poetry and even heroism is not based in reality but in your evident sarcophobia.
And your note that life was "pure" "when parents found
In home [??] and you their greatest aim" is, given the way it is worded, as indecipherable as the idea that there was a golden age that was due to people never having sex unless they were married and that it was for procreation is absurd. Can you tell me when and where this occurred?
Once again, you dispense with sense in order to get rhymes.

To answer your last question, I can say when Europe produced people strong and with values to make it able to produce its civilization and conquer the world. Now it brings people from other countries to have its needs, and those people will destroy it. Look at the European counties now, and the USA will follow it.
Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
"To answer your last question, I can say [that it was] when Europe produced people strong [sic people who were strong] and with values to make it able to produce its civilization and conquer the world."
But you've not shown that this undated "when" was a time in which the people who were strong were solely the offspring of married couples, let alone married couples who never engaged in sex for pleasure. And the idea that bastards could not be strong or have values is absurd. Nor have you shown that the power of European civilization was the result of "pure marriages"
"Now it brings people from other countries to have its needs,"
This is another example of your inability to express yourself in good English. I trust you meant to say that it brings **in** people from non-European countries **to supply** its needs.
In any case, please state exactly when it was that Europe did not bring people from non-European countries into its lands to produce what was necessary to supply its needs.

"By your honour, is this an answer?"
I'm not sure why I should answer a man who has demonstrated time and again in the fallacious ways that he responds to criticism of his submissions that he has no honour.
.
In any case, I fail to see how the "this "you refer to could be an **" answer** to anything since it was an observation about how your claim about when and where a time of sexual purity took place, let alone what oy was that caused Europe to be powerful has no evidence to support it.

"This saves me from reading."
I take it that you meant to say that what I just wrote to you (before this message) saves you from reading what I wrote in the message from me that precedes it. But in leaving out any notice of what it is that "this" saves you from reading, you've hardly made this clear.
But you have provided more evidence that you are not as skilled in writing comprehensible English sentences as you think you are.

Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
I would like to know
if it were ever so
as someone here has claimed
that once there was a time
when only those
of married state
had sex
and only then
with sole intent
to propagate
with purpose to ensure
their nation would
sustain itself
by being filled a lot
with uncorrupted sons
and if so, when it was.
and likewise if
there also was
in history a clime
in which
all men who had
as yet remained unwed
restrained themselves
from semen’s spread
and never took to bed
before he came to be
espoused
a woman who
was virtue led
or not.

Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
"By your word of honour, do you consider the writing before this comment poetry."
Leaving aside the fact that what's directly above is not a comment, let's see.
Its lines are set out in a recognizable and consistent rhythm.
Its language is clever and engaging.
It has a style and a punch that is much the same as what's found in many of the works of such poets as e e cummings and Dorthy Parket and many other notable and well-received parodists.
it contains rhymes
It, albeit in a humorous way, asks a pertinent question.
So, yes, I consider it poetry. Not monumental poetry, but poetry nevertheless. If it wasn't, you'd think that the people who stopped by my page to read it since I posted it there would say so.
"Personally, l don't"
Of course, you don't. But the question is whether the grounds your evaluation of my piece is based on are any good, not to mention would be accepted as legitimate by the published poets you admire. And what reason is there that anyone who has read the humorless, dreary, poorly worded, question-begging, and presumptuous pieces that you post would think that you would?
My piece might not live up to the criteria that you claim a writing must live up to in order for it to be regarded as poetry. But so what? Most of yours don't either. And who among accomplished and prize-winning poets subscribes to the idea that your criteria are good ones, let alone the only ones that are determinative in assessing whether or not a writing is poetry should be taken seriously?

There is no imagination, no feelings, and no ideas in it that can move anyone.
Re: Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION

How can a poem have feelings? How can it have imagination? Did you mean to say that its author doesn't depict feelings in such a way that readers experience them and that what it is that its author speaks about is expressed imaginatively?
As to what I say there not having the power to move anyone in any way, I disagree, especially since I've been told privately by someone who read the piece t that it moved him to laughter and to think that your claims that there was a time in Europe (or anywhere) in which the only people who had sex were married couples and then only for the purpose of having children were rubbish.

Baldwin, you are the only person, who is defending free sex and who is attacking my poems whatever they are, so l criticize only you and l don't criticise any other person. They are all my friends. Do you understand this point? Please take it into consideration.
Re: Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
"Do you understand this point?"
I'm not sure which of the various "points" you made (or implied) above, i.e.,
1. that others who don't defend "free sex" **have** criticized your submissions;
2. that my reasons for criticizing your submissions have nothing to do with the fact that they are often full of claims that are contrary to fact or that they mangle the English language, but are that I "defend free sex" -- which, by the way[, is something I've never done and which your saying that I have is a gross, but not unexpected, misrepresentation of what I've been saying in this thread;
3. that you don't criticize any other poster's submissions even if that lack poetically felicity; are therefore worthy of critical analysis, and are ones for which criticism is requested because they have never criticized your submissions, and especially if they are written by your friends;
4. that the reason you criticize my submissions has nothing to do with whether in your estimation they lack art, but because I'm the only one who "attacks" yours
that I supposedly don't understand.
What, however, I DO understand is that you don't see what I've been criticizing in my messages in this thread
-- notably for reasons that are in no way grounded in any personal beliefs I may or may not have about how free sex should be but in an awareness of what has and has not occurred in history --
are your unsustained and unsustainable claims (1) that what causes civilizations to die is the abandonment of the idea that the only legitimate reason for having sex is to produce children and (2) that there was a time in European history when everyone in Europe followed your notion that no one except married couples should have sex and that it should not be to have pleasure or to create bonds of intimacy.
They are pure hokum and remain so regardless of anyone's thinking about how free sex should be.
In any case, can we get back to dealing with the question of whether or not your submission is well written and the validity of my claims that it is not, even if the only criteria we use for determining this is whether the ideas that you were intent to express there create feelings inside readers that move them to say, "this is how man should be"?

Re: Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
"Read the sentence before the point. It [i.e., which of the various points you made in the message from you that I quote below is the one that I don't understand] will be clear to you"
OK. Let's look at what you wrote:
"Baldwin, you are the only person, who is defending free sex and who is attacking my poems whatever they are, so l criticize only you and l don't criticise [sic] any other person. They are all my friends. Do you understand this point? "
So the sentence that comes immediately before your mention of a "point" is "They are all my friends".
What is it that reading this sentence makes clear? Is it that all of the other persons whose submissions you read are your friends? Is it that you don't criticize your friends because they are your friends?
If it is the latter, I have to ask "Is this something that is true, let alone clear?". And haven't you declared quite a few times that you consider me a friend of yours? So isn't it the case that you DO criticize people whom you note to be a friend of yours?
And haven't you admitted in saying that you criticize me (rather than my submissions) that you engage in ad hominems?

Re. THE LAST BLOW TO WESTERN CIVILIZATION
I also have to ask why you claim that I defend "free sex", let alone that I am the only person who does so if this indeed is what I do here on DUP. Is it that a number of my submissions focus on what the experience of making love has been like for the narrator of them? Why is this focus -- which is also that of many of the poems written by those you say you admire -- something that says or defends the idea that sex should be "free", let alone one that indicates that the narrator does not value commitment or is not committed, to the woman he makes love with and has not engaged in the lovemaking the joys of which he celebrates in order to create bonds of intimacy and to express love?
