Image for the poem Fall

Fall

Reds yellows greens
White scrolling bark
Crisp skies, sunlight and cool breeze
Drifting lazily across the meadow
The colors flutter down
Teasing peak-a-boo mushrooms
To the tune of sour wild apples
Ticking out the shortening days
As breezes brush their clinging stems
Yet all I desire
Is that you tumble into this fall scene
Beside me
To laugh with the clouds scampering across skies
that match the colors of your eyes
As they fall
Into my thistle-down heart
Soft, always soft for you
