love is not so easy to kill
Anger seeps
into the crevices of our lives
displacing the space
our hearts called home
Cruelly
is a cancer growing
a burning ember that ignites
a forest fire of destruction
leaving in the aftermath
a numb placidity,
darkness
and unending sadness
Avoiding each other's eyes
ashamed of words meant to hurt
praying all could be unsaid
and then you touch my hand
offering a new beginning
a blessing
turning pain
into summer rains
Watching as flowers unfold
seeing the world grow
Together
we walk within the storm
washing souls clean
leaving spirits
whole
Holding hands
we look in each others eyes
finding a miracle
deep inside
love is not so easy to kill
into the crevices of our lives
displacing the space
our hearts called home
Cruelly
is a cancer growing
a burning ember that ignites
a forest fire of destruction
leaving in the aftermath
a numb placidity,
darkness
and unending sadness
Avoiding each other's eyes
ashamed of words meant to hurt
praying all could be unsaid
and then you touch my hand
offering a new beginning
a blessing
turning pain
into summer rains
Watching as flowers unfold
seeing the world grow
Together
we walk within the storm
washing souls clean
leaving spirits
whole
Holding hands
we look in each others eyes
finding a miracle
deep inside
love is not so easy to kill
