I wrote this for my daughter after learning that a man had taken advantage of her after he said he loved her and she took his meaning more seriously than was justified.

Yes, I've been deceived by my own words even as they came out of my mouth. Not an intention to lie so much as wishing another meaning for them? "Lessons in love...." what a beautiful phrase. Thank you for your kind and insightful thoughts.

All that is left for me to say is you can never tell a person's true intentions when all you see is the good in them.
