Essence of Woman
Essence of Woman
Sultana peeks at fallen idol
With eyes of melted tears
Whose salt crushes his sorrow
Into the grains of mercy, she shows
To spice her sultan’s midnight quarters
Where heaven falls in waves
When her hair is suspended in time
Where her tresses flow in scarlet rivers
When her shawl turns green with the king’s envy
For the beauty, only a woman can hold
Because her essence slips from his hands
Like heaven from the sky
In her azure eyes
Sultana peeks at fallen idol
With eyes of melted tears
Whose salt crushes his sorrow
Into the grains of mercy, she shows
To spice her sultan’s midnight quarters
Where heaven falls in waves
When her hair is suspended in time
Where her tresses flow in scarlet rivers
When her shawl turns green with the king’s envy
For the beauty, only a woman can hold
Because her essence slips from his hands
Like heaven from the sky
In her azure eyes
