Mine

She stood alone in an indigo haze
Her fragility hidden behind a cold edged gaze

Always away from the covetous eye
Unkempt and unruly and outrageously wild

Destined to be beheld but never to be claimed
By those that would seek in lust and the chase of the game

But he waited by the water, his hand outstretched
His kindness and clarity beautifully unmet

His patience was present but his thirst was clear
And yet so still he stood in respect to her fears

He coaxed her approach, him knowing her mind
and curious she was, for he too was hard to find

And when she got near he waited no time
And consumed her whole being and whispered,

 “For this moment, Mine”
