Inside Autumn

wrapped in your arms,  
the cracks of the fire pop throughout my ears

mixed with orange citrus,  
your scent of cinnamon spice puts me in a trance  
 
 
i'm in a field of oats and daisies  
 
occasional breezes blow through my knitted sweater  
restoring my silked skin  
 
i begin to run  
 
chestnut hair flutters and whips  
smothers my blushed face  
 
hovering clouds start to soften  
drifting through the royal sky  
 
a rocky path  
collapses me to my knees  
 
 
your eyes are seen again  
and i'm feeling your heart start to beat again  
 
what has faded will one day reappear  
but only in my dreams
