Empty Chair 🛋

Even the small
Untalkable moments
Just grace with your presence
Not hard at all.
But seems hard when you have them
And seems so easy after you lose them.
But it will be a lot harder
When you can't simply
Pick up the receiver
And listen to their jokes
Their pain and their laughter.

Never take them for granted while there
You never know when you'll see
Their empty chair
Never keep saying next week
Live for the now, to hear them speak.

For you never may know
When all your hear
Is the old floor creak
And nothing but years
Roll down your cheek.

Never take them for granted while there
You never know when you'll see
Their empty chair
Never keep saying next week
Live for the now, to hear them speak.

Having a meal
Or sharing a joint
Spend time for real
Doesn't matter the point.

Then may come the day
When the Reaper collects his pay
You regret putting them on a shelf
And the irony is you now
Have time to yourself
But it's time to yourself
You never wanted, this way ....🛋

Never take them for granted while there
You never know when you'll see
Their empty chair
Never keep saying next week
Live for the now, to hear them speak.

Oh ....

Never take them for granted while there
You never know when you'll see
Their empty chair
Never keep saying next week
Live for the now, to hear them speak.
