a kiss
touch me in my shadow places I'm lonely for your resolve
who silently admonishes me to weep no more
there in the dark you wait for me
to quiet my noise and see you once more
a man of great patience
who watched on while my demons rage
and I sat in utter desolation
you had my attention in the pain
I pace the bleak and you counted my steps
catching my tears as they fall
I didn't see you then
I couldn't see my own haunted reflection mirrored in your gaze
but your stillness moved me hardman
with deft precision you hunt the night
and the brought honesty home to me
when my soul fled to higher ground
I've never known a greater love
until time expanded and sigh
to catch a dream
your hand in mine
