A Shoelace Broken
With mist on the face
of thunderous clouds,
dark tides crashing
the long thick cover
of gathering storms
fathoms deep, lost,
a shoelace broken
of sea-gulls flying
out of view
with shadows of the albatross,
dying, the last voyage done,
away from the rum
on the waves setting me free
of gathering storms
