Clear Thoughts

How do you start an argument while sharing the dishes
Or while cuddling on the couch discussing vacation wishes
How can I regroup and find out where this is coming from
Find out why when I give chase, you continue to run

I asked for an audience and if she doesn't agree I'll leave her alone
During honest conversation I learn from where this fear has grown
I learned that this is a queen that never sat on her throne
That those before me never gave her heart a home

Sneaky ass liars, busy self prioritizing
Shattered her dreams of someone else doing the idolizing
Carefully she explained all the hurt and pain
That she had shed her last tear and swore to never cry again

But how can she compare herself and them, to us
Hell she's comparing real love to a fantasy, lust
We realize that we need to back things up and build more trust
And maybe this time she'll have better luck

 But it's hard tearing down walls that you have fortified with bad choices
And even harder, since you wont stop listening to their voices
I am but one battling so many, for your heart
There also seems to be some former lovers that still want a part

You, yourself seems to be a rope in a game of tug of war
You are being pulled both ways, but what is everyone pulling for
They are pulling for you to stay as is, used, abused, and confused
They like you not knowing that on this course you are destine to loose

I'm pulling for you to realize who you truly are
You think that you're an asteroid, but I'm telling you that you are a star
I want to take you, Boo, and clear that cloud from around your mind
Prove to you that the pain and confusion is there by the design

Maybe with this knowledge our lives can truly begin
Maybe with this knowledge we can start over as friends
Build up a new foundation fortified with a new reality
Forgetting the outside world, the only brick and mortar needed is you and me
