Crooked
There were things going on in my mind
Things that were asked of me more than one time
Who I am? Do I truly be?
This is but two of the questions that she asked of me
She doesn't want to know my true heart
Where the games truly end and where I start
Just imagine if you had hit replay a million times before
And someone no matter how special or beautiful, ask you to hit replay once more
To them this should be considered your first because the two of you just met
But she doesn't realize that she's like everyone that you've met as of yet
You knew that the conversation would be the same before you knew her name
You knew that mistakes would be made and you would bare the blame
Fangs and talons drawn, knives have been thrown
And like a million times before, you're the one left with their heart torn
For everyone else life just seems to move on
It's simply amazing how fast love can turn to scorn
This undying love to the heavens you have sworn
Magically it appears and in the blink of an eye it's gone
But was it ever in that hand, or was it placed in that hat
If something never truly existed, how can I know where it's at
The love that you claim, is like starlight burnt out so long ago
For the smallest of time it seems real to those that don't know
That this light is an illusion traveling for a predetermined amount of time
My love for you could be infinite, although it doesn't travel in a straight line
Things that were asked of me more than one time
Who I am? Do I truly be?
This is but two of the questions that she asked of me
