I liked the subtlety of this poem. The image of grandmother petitioning for rights we can enjoy today, such as popping wheelies on skateboards without judgement. I dont think present generations truly appreciate the sacrifices made by past generations that redefined oppressions and injustices. Lovely write. H🌷
Those times long gone, where the struggle for equality and fighting for what you believed in felt like it made a difference, and eventually did .... versus today, where rights have literally been wiped away with a very political and a majority male stroke of the pen.
I love the way you juxtaposed the two scenes, filling me with the nostalgia of that Era.... it really hit home and affected me deeply, SL.
i still recieve an inner smile from time to time when i overhear some of our youth planning escapades to do things to save our planet from the arrogant/ignorant species who do not embrace the spiritual pace of acceptance and compassion.
i'm glad you are here sharing your creative inspirations to keep love awakened
