Nature's Call
An idle yard receives the sun
Through the midmorning skies of June
And verdancy has overrun
The branches of the golden prune
Which dangles down to brush the moss
With the influence of the breeze
Blowing eternally across
The glory of all the sunlit trees
Which feed on the respired air
Exhaled from the living lungs
Of anxious creatures everywhere
Wagging their anxious creature tongues
To tell the apes in their square caves
To come see how the Earth behaves!
Through the midmorning skies of June
And verdancy has overrun
The branches of the golden prune
Which dangles down to brush the moss
With the influence of the breeze
Blowing eternally across
The glory of all the sunlit trees
Which feed on the respired air
Exhaled from the living lungs
Of anxious creatures everywhere
Wagging their anxious creature tongues
To tell the apes in their square caves
To come see how the Earth behaves!
