I like to mind my own business
The lady next door
Is in the backyard in the middle of the night
By dim light
Digging a hole.
Funny thing
Her husband for a week not seen
On a business trip way out
In Colorado, it seems.
Strange as he rarely, if ever
Moves far away from easy chair and beer
Except to go to the pub
Possibly to get some peace away from her
Perhaps my mind works overtime
She does have a thing for stray cats and others
She hates them
Many in the area have gone missing
Is that is where she buries them
After dropping some poison in the food she offers them?
It nags
I don't prey in other people's affairs
Of course not.
But as soon as Jeff leaves for the pub at five
A young man goes from the bush to the house
The walls are thin so I hear noises
How disgusting
None of my business. But I record, just in case.
I shall have to speak with Jeff
If and when he comes back from Colorado.
