Beggar’s Prayer
i was wailing for you
in my car that day
that promised fate
all day and night long
driving around lost
bawling along to a
hymn of broken hearts

desire echoed infinity
my beggar’s prayer
was a singing bowl
overflowing with emotion
grasping at hope
i never knew love
could hurt so damn much
aching for you but
you were out of reach
so close yet far, i was
alone in the dark
driving around lost
wearing weight on my soul
