Homeless
I never thought that this could happen to me,
Aimlessly walking up and down the streets I will be,
I was raised in a completely different environment,
But, now to the streets is where I have been sent,
I once thought that I was pretty tough,
But,being homeless in a huge, hot city is all to rough,
I am finally ready to say enough is enough,
It is no cozy, warm bed for me,
Instead, I am lucky to find a roof to cover my head, let alone a bed where I would much rather be,
No family members to run to when times are hard.
And a handful of friends that I desperately need to discard,
Only a few will I take with me in my new era of change,
A life that at first my feel a little bit strange,
Only because it will be lacking this hunger that I have been known to acquire,
No more drama for me, it is off to a better life in which I so badly desire,
So, keep an eye out for that all to familiar face that use to walk the streets,
To all those people who once thought that I was something else, judging my before you had a chance to meet,
Be watching for me, because I will rise in the end, with my head held high,
I will show all those who once doubted me, I will prove that what you once spoke are only lies,
Instead of looks of discuse that were frequently thrown my way,
People will now nod their heads in approval and only good things they will have to say,
And at night, instead of lying awake and already dreading tomorrow, another day,
I will eagerly close my eyes tight and I will welcome the day in a whole different way!
