Inner Sanctum
When fettered in night's sweet embrace
I cannot find fault with the dark
Or anywhere in outer space
From puny quark to heaven's spark
Nor all the phenotypes therein
Longing for an overdue glare
Of daybreak's well known solar spin
Demystifying morning air
Where sonneteers behold rare dreams
Amid the rise of drifting dew
Empowered by Apollo's beams
And all of their atomic spew
So blinding in the blue day sky;
Tamed by the sleeping midnight eye!
I cannot find fault with the dark
Or anywhere in outer space
From puny quark to heaven's spark
Nor all the phenotypes therein
Longing for an overdue glare
Of daybreak's well known solar spin
Demystifying morning air
Where sonneteers behold rare dreams
Amid the rise of drifting dew
Empowered by Apollo's beams
And all of their atomic spew
So blinding in the blue day sky;
Tamed by the sleeping midnight eye!
