CLOSER THAN MY DARKEST SECRETS
'You are closer to my heart than my darkest secrets are' -
for when you are with me, your love keeps them afar,
like a sentry who will not let an enemy
invade my living space and set to trouble me.
The worse the secrets can do lose their power.
You leave me feeling warmly washed as from a shower.
When you take me in your arms I feel protected
in your gentle strength, confidence, needs respected.
You make memories, gladly carried forever,
that help me stay faithful when we are not together.
