Oh Lord, the grief if only for a second it was brief
So I could indulge in a sense of relief.
I loved you dearly in life while in death I love you still
You have a place in my heart no one will ever fill.

I like your rhyme scheme here, it almost lifts the tone a little. might be an idea to have it engraved on a little plaque
