Fellowship Of The Recalcitrants

Well let's hope not! Everybody just seems to expect the horrors of the past to keep repeating themselves, forgetting that we are actually creatures in the process of civilizing ourselves. Forgetting about Evolution, as if we're really those monkeys at the beginning of 2001. Great movie, dog the metaphors and all that. It's real fucking easy to look around and read the goddamn news in 20 yeah humanity is still for the same level of proof that we were 2000 years ago. That's simply not the fucking case. In 2000 years from now we're gonna be a lot more civilized than we are today. Nine of us are gonna be around, and none of us are going to be remembered. I dunno. Maybe they'll still be teaching Shakespeare, or at least, About Shakespeare, somewhere... if cultural continuity remains, and gosh, I hope it does, I like our culture. Globally, the culture of humanity. I think it's fucking great. I love Christ, I like God, sometimes I attend services at the Mormon fucking church. Sometimes I go Episcopalian, sometimes I go Catholic, sometimes I go non-denominational. I like Alan Moore. If I want nice crunchy hippies or the sweetest kids who really have no idea how to  "get" faith, devotion, or the actual
Phenomenon of prayer (let alone, madness) I'll devote with the western Buddhists. Ah-ducking-hum. I'm, literally Christian. My understandings of Christ and what he went through, and the actual Good, highly civilizing things that came out of his existence—or at least, the stories which were told of his existence—are my most important, cherished understandings;and I carry him with me wherever I go. Just to have someone in my heart whom I feel would empathize with me. Just to carry someone around within my heart to Always Love. I eat dinner at the Hari Krishna Temple Sunday nights, occasionally, occasionally attend their festivities feeling awkward as an outsider but understanding exactly where the energy comes from,  rejoicing in it, and participating to the fullest extent of all my tiny, infinitely large human heart.

Don't be such a bugaboo.

Oysters like, as individuals, trying to heal, trying to find, and then to reach the better versions of ourselves we know are within our mind's eye. But we struggle so much, inside, hurting and hating ourselves as we go, sometimes badly. Dragging our big chains behind us. But we Persevere. We keep going, always trying to "get over" that next step. Healing journeys we measure in increments, sometimes the tiniest of increments, but an increment none the less. We drag ourselves through depressions, so often clocking two steps forward, a step and a half back, but sometimes we Leap Forward in a gigantic bound. Usually to our own, profound surprise. Often times this happens when we know that Love is involved. But Love is Always Involved. And at the end of the day, unless a guy or a woman truly is a miserable fuck, we find, before we lay down to sleep for to wake the next morning, that we have come Far. I'll say it again, differently
