Place in Space
I can still see the kayaks,
crafted from Birch trees,
gliding down the lakes
and streams, now claimed
by steaming behemoths
and street lights, circled
in moths. I can see the
circles of individuals
working in concert - with
nature and each other -
breathing in their share
of the air and nothing
more. And when I look
at the modern age, I
see metal monuments
to sky scapes, conquered
by human ingenuity. I
see isolations of activity
and a new understanding
of nature and our:
Place
In
Space.

Wow... What can I say, C .... I think this piece has probably become a new favorite. I think the structure, being outside your usual, initially grabbed ahold..... Then the visuals and the cleverly staggered rhyming only added to the feel and the atmosphere you created...
I was taken there... To the wonderings of dual existence; the natural world vs modern technology and our humanity's place.... what that looks like and how we're currently fitting within either or both.....
Just a treasure trove of thought exchange and pondering.... I love that... so so much..

That is very kind and cool of you...
(Just got back from run and bike ride...
I have been seeing people all over
the place... Just... Passed out in the
middle of... Wherever. I saw someone
passed out in what appeared to be
someone's front yard... Reminded me
of one of my cousins, who is a serious
gamer... Him and his friends would
congregate and drink vodka and smoke
ganja and whatever else... And just play
video games... This was during the winter
and there was this sort of upstairs... It
was like a rooftop... "outdoor room" I
guess you could call it.?. But I remember
one time one of the guys was just passed
passed out in the snow... Holding a
bottle of vodka, like an alcoholic teddy
bear...)
That's what this person reminded me of...
Or... Alternatively, someone in a county
jail holding tank...
Last night I rode back by that place where
I saw the people on the sidewalk...
And further down was someone in the
fetal position, legs...
Sticking out of the blanket...
On a side note...
I think I have heat blisters.?.
I don't know that I have ever had that
before...
I thought they were bug bites
or something.?.
They might still be... But I think
they are heat blisters...
I put some predator mites in my
vegetable garden...
And I see them/feel them crawling on me...
I was like...
"If these are the bites of mites it's okay
as long as you do that to the gnats and
whatever else... :p"
