going out of town
escaping expectations
here where they are found

living in the same old place,
I've got to get away
to somewhere disconnected
from the everyday

to become anonymous
slipping in between
molecules of atmosphere
while floating in a stream

of sensory sensations
stimulating mind
feelings new cascading
in another time

where everyone and everything
is unfamiliar
recharging my depleted
inner reservoir

until home becomes a beacon
somewhere to retire
somewhere to return again
somewhere I desire...
