dancing like Ian Curtis

A troubled soul with huge talent....and influence.

I’m probably extremely guilty of having “let’s dance to joy division” by The Wombats enter my head after reading this. But this is relevant, because of the chorus:

“Let's dance to Joy Division
And celebrate the irony
Everything is going wrong
But we're so happy“

sometimes, it only takes something as small and as insignificant as dance to cut through another day. I think we should do more of that. Especially bearing in mind the untimely fate of Ian Curtis himself.

Ha! The old epileptic soft shoe shuffle. If ever a man was destined to die young. He has a mesmerising presence.
Ian Curtis would be a good competition theme. The beautifully self-destructive and sparse words.

After Richey Edwards disappeared, the Manics bumped into New Order. The latter expressed their sympathy and said "at least we had a body." I love that dark Northern gallows humour.
