uncertainty

I breathe into each moment
trying to find my voice
but I'm easily lost
my fears loud and obnoxious
and vying for attention
without purpose
or healing answers
to all the questions
that linger in my ribcage
wordless and unspoken

I don't know how to start
this journey to better
I read tarot cards
like they hold every answer
when they don't tell me anything
I don't already know
and "be brave" isn't a motto
I can easily live by
when my heart holds
so much uncertainty
despite the safety of his arms
and the zen of his kisses
wrapping me up in a chemistry
I can't deny

So I breathe into each moment
trying to find a truth I can live with
and finding no easy answers
or easy paths to take

This love looks like the hard road
and I want to believe it's enough
