Missing Greenery
I was walking back home
Walking on cement sidewalks
And asphalt roads
With cars parked alongside everywhere
Hardly a few inches between each
(Imagine all the invisible fumes)
Walking towards the Olympic Stadium
A monstrosity in itself proudly sitting
In the midst of even more concrete
And more and more cement
And asphalt
And I felt as if I had difficulty to breathe
And only had this strong desire
To find a way to escape to some shack
Way out there in the woods
Walking on cement sidewalks
And asphalt roads
With cars parked alongside everywhere
Hardly a few inches between each
(Imagine all the invisible fumes)
Walking towards the Olympic Stadium
A monstrosity in itself proudly sitting
In the midst of even more concrete
And more and more cement
And asphalt
And I felt as if I had difficulty to breathe
And only had this strong desire
To find a way to escape to some shack
Way out there in the woods
