Hell on Earth
Blood runs cold
In the warm summer ground
As newborn angels rise
And float away
In the gentle Texas breeze
Death came to soon
An uninvited guest
Cruelly abducting our children
Stifling their dreams of the future
Now mothers and fathers
Will hold onto memories of the past
And our nation will ask why
While politicians play their chess game
In the media
EVIL cast its shadow
Uprooting peace
And destroying innocence
Leaving death, destruction and mourning
In its wake
And yet...
We will still cling to hope
Hope...
For the future
For our children
For our country
Hope... that the decency of mankind can survive with peace and love toward one another.
And try to take comfort...
Knowing God will one day save us
From this Hell on Earth
In the warm summer ground
As newborn angels rise
And float away
In the gentle Texas breeze
Death came to soon
An uninvited guest
Cruelly abducting our children
Stifling their dreams of the future
Now mothers and fathers
Will hold onto memories of the past
And our nation will ask why
While politicians play their chess game
In the media
EVIL cast its shadow
Uprooting peace
And destroying innocence
Leaving death, destruction and mourning
In its wake
And yet...
We will still cling to hope
Hope...
For the future
For our children
For our country
Hope... that the decency of mankind can survive with peace and love toward one another.
And try to take comfort...
Knowing God will one day save us
From this Hell on Earth
