Losing Her Place
Linens flap hopelessly in the angry wind
holding place, if only, out of pride
still succumbing to shock of the tide
hidden in the humility
as it is a wave of disgrace
coming down to hear
now
allotted alone
time and all the years
attuned to hollow
blowing in all our fears
we weep, not apart
in strength we are as one
the daughter, the son
unrest broken as my heart
in dying life is not done
but words fall and clouds hide the sun
it's cold and there's no where to go
I surrender to the the night
her darkness
the ever changing face
pulling me apart
begging
for a saving grace
the world has lost
her place
holding place, if only, out of pride
still succumbing to shock of the tide
hidden in the humility
as it is a wave of disgrace
coming down to hear
now
allotted alone
time and all the years
attuned to hollow
blowing in all our fears
we weep, not apart
in strength we are as one
the daughter, the son
unrest broken as my heart
in dying life is not done
but words fall and clouds hide the sun
it's cold and there's no where to go
I surrender to the the night
her darkness
the ever changing face
pulling me apart
begging
for a saving grace
the world has lost
her place
