Sigma Octantis...

Fixed far beyond the cold Antarctic sky...
Caged in austral longitude convergence
And by only the sharpest sailor's eye
At a yacht's midnight cabin emergence,
Might, in some fresh vision field be seen
Confirming astro-cartography's dot
Where heaven itself goes to contravene
The north star in its Borealis spot...
Both axle hubbing this Earth wheel spin
Between old antipodean extremes
Wearing well on the occupants within
Our macrocosm of cosmic dreams...
Where we wish upon the most constant stars
With the inspiration of millibars!
