Earthshine!
Routinely I have seen it sink
Into the wilds of the west
With a stellar essence pink
All true romantics will attest
Pairs well with oceanic blue
Within the shade of its own sphere
Monthly cooling craters anew
Twelve times every calendar year;
A spectacle I've come to love
With more than my age blemished sight
For what else might we see above
To make us love yet more the night
That frames our love in crescent gold
And twilight blue...one thousand fold!
Into the wilds of the west
With a stellar essence pink
All true romantics will attest
Pairs well with oceanic blue
Within the shade of its own sphere
Monthly cooling craters anew
Twelve times every calendar year;
A spectacle I've come to love
With more than my age blemished sight
For what else might we see above
To make us love yet more the night
That frames our love in crescent gold
And twilight blue...one thousand fold!
