Charnel Rose
In the shadow of a charnel rose
of silence all alone
with a ghostly whisper
about my abode
beneath a soulless tree
touched by the thorn
crushing the orange
of Celtic twilight
with gossamer petals in a seance
a spiritual mysticiam
pulling at death's strings
dripping nectar from the thorn
up the trellis and down
in the shadow of a charnel rose
