Greyed

grey kissed her cloud
and I stood in the solitude
under the barren span
veined with drear
awaiting to pounce
on the lonely

darkness turned up the dial
exposed to the consternation
of the damned
"life be damned"
as salt reached down
the corners of my being

is that all I am
a wandering being?

purpose proposed to the night
an offering of hopes
too small
"I am too small"
under duress
a starless sky
wondering
will there ever be light?

after the fall
from grace
saving face to face
another wall
a bit to tall
to climb
so would again I fall?

or would one help
in a state of need
not asked to much
nor to bleed
from the coffers of your mind
only gifting of time

to breathe life
in so much a fading soul
sitting crossed leg
on the begotten toll
and toil
devoid of rain
or sun

awaiting someone,
something
yet begun

—dare come near
——or perhaps, dutifully run
