Eviscerated in My Dream
Last night, I was clearly eviscerated in my dream
But I gave no cries of help or horrifying screams
Instead I lay there on the table unable to move my head
Knowing I was conscious and yet thinking I was dead
And I could see every single detail of my entrails
Watching my lungs throb with inhales and exhales
And for some reason I could see within the open frame
My splayed out intestines spelling out my name
Then I saw my reflection on the overhead light
And the gruesome image gave me quite the fright
The skin on my face had been peeled back as well
And the muscles underneath all looked so frail
The gory scene was something I had never seen
Every organ in my torso was meticulously preened
And yet throughout the ordeal I didn’t feel any pain
Even as my widely open skull displayed my brain
My body remained frozen as I lay there quiet and still
It was as if the experience had removed all my will
Out of the corner of lidless eyes I saw someone enter
I finally witnessed the face of my beautiful tormentor
She was dressed in a starchy clean white lab coat
With a black and crimson choker around her throat
Her stunning face leaned over studying me
I didn’t know if this was a medical school or mortuary
I felt like a monster held open by fasteners and clips
As the beauty examined me with pretty pouty lips
It should have been a nightmare of the most extreme
Smitten as I was eviscerated last night in my dream
