Dominion

I despise times like these
The displaced swell in the streets
Go hungry by their contagion
Fate steeped mystery

Children have no fathers
And their mothers can’t stay pretty
A wild era that breathes wrath
Unfurl the dragon’s fire

Leave, sown
Let the weak wither

Defame, candor
The strong merely buckle

Dominion over all

You heard the thunder
A marching mockery of luxury
Every rock turned for brownie points
Just to cut you at the knees

Mischief and madness
Petty squabbling in an open sore
No one knew how it started
Or where we landed

Leave, sown
Let the weak wither

Defame, candor
The strong merely buckle

Dominion over all

I no longer wonder
For we live under Babylon
Metal cities override the splendor
Ensnare what’s beautiful
