Built for Fear

Built for Fear

Powers upon pedestals mount their claims
While what feeds their fancies defies
That knowledge of those apart to tame
The reach of rites and practices they whine.

The true shadow of the sword should cast
The due curse not to be used again,
But it bears the threat of wanton blasts
Defending and protecting disdain.

What it metes may embrace an offense
On all human eyes it does not blind,
But souls that bear another true sense
See it as of an indecent mind.

All the acts of minds that it bestows
Best ensures that either does control
All extents of evils it forgoes
For goods had in the jail it extols.

Must man suffer such want it applies
To convince his kin not to neglect
Needs for feeding more mouths with supplies
To comply with the costs it subjects?
