Inspiration Requiem
It is amazing
how long an eclipse
can seem
to churn on.....
and yet
these vapid
and nullifying
instances
are their own source
of inspiration.
There is
a humble nobility
in painting
that waning
instability
even
as we fall
off a roof....
a zenlike quality
of seeing despair
as the staircase
to moonlight.

Your introspection and creative self understandings /conclusions are truly valuable to read and ponder. (I guess for my own selfish reasons... Lol.. ) but seriously... When reading another's own thought process, it really does help affect and shape slightly, my own. At the very least, it helps by allowing me to consider something that I originally hadn't... Like the aching and haunting beauty of your last stanza... that seems to have deeply taken root with me.
Sorry for the slight rambling... I just felt the need to express... Lol.

Issa has that ability to punch me in the stomach and make me thank him.
I had made that comment on someone else's poetry this morning. Like for you, their work inspired me to reach out.
These are the types of experiences we draw from... breakthroughs from break throughs.
Direct experiences, direct communications...these things can redefine us.
If I am truly being honest with someone in conversation, I've got to be open to real change. It would be hypocritical to talk to someone, share my thinking and hope that it changes them in some way if I am not willing to risk the same. I have to be willing to learn from them. Otherwise it's not a conversation....it's a speech....a diatribe... a soliloquy. I'm a person who shares. I desire others to share. They have to have an even chance of making a change in ME. Their words matter. Fair consideration.
I know I'm difficult. I think of my own thoughts as important and hard won. Others must do the same. Anyone can be same. Tough as nails and open minded. It's not easy. Not impossible. I want to believe. I want to understand. I want agree. And where I can, I should. Others work just as hard for their answers. Part of my pride says that if someone offers me a better perspective, I will follow it and ditch my previous one. It's the honest thing to do. When I get a new way to see things, it changes me interdisciplinarily. I change internally. And I operate differently. I have to. Every conversation challenges me to maintain or abandon my own thinking. That makes me way serious. Too much so. And that can be overwhelming....
