reminisce
reminisce
as moments slip away
i begged them to stay
now square and blurry
polaroids on my wall
i count them all, each night
dreaming
of bike rides in the park
hopping fences through the dark
i even smell the clouds of smoke
feel my head against her chest
and hear the strum of ukuleles
a reality so perfect, so pure
once filled my heart so full
has turned into tears that burn
it hurts
for a piece i hold
..held
so preciously
has been ripped out of me
so i sit
and
reminisce
watching photos fall from where they hang
i will not pick them up today.
as moments slip away
i begged them to stay
now square and blurry
polaroids on my wall
i count them all, each night
dreaming
of bike rides in the park
hopping fences through the dark
i even smell the clouds of smoke
feel my head against her chest
and hear the strum of ukuleles
a reality so perfect, so pure
once filled my heart so full
has turned into tears that burn
it hurts
for a piece i hold
..held
