Regarding Inspiration
my forehead
has a bright red
palm mark
in the center;
not bruised
it's there
for the long haul
thoughts flying
like a mental
soap-opera
on 64 inches
of rich, pure, plasma
sometimes
joy is found
in unforeseen things
like when
unexpected
people
leave you
inspired!
sitting in the same room
of familiar
voices
with accents
we've never heard
-realizing
we yearn for
the same people,
places, and things
we don't know
-though we do

The author encourages honest critique.
Y’know, it makes me laugh. Sometimes as poets we like to revel in our hermit-ness, and we think we’re ok. But the truth is we all need people whether we think we do or not.
We need them for laughter. For connection. For friendship. For inspiration. We need them to lift us up when we can’t see that in ourselves. And maybe that’s why as human beings we are so lonely. Because we believe we don’t need anybody else, and deny ourselves all of that good stuff.
I think that’s why so many people were affected by lockdowns. We lost our connection to each other. We lost everything we need to be human.
This is a special poem because it reminds me of all the good parts of people and that warms my little heart.
Thank you for sharing.

I think what you saying applies to people in general, I've been on a rollercoaster of late. With more high speed downward spirals that slow treacherous ups. I think we become uninspired by the mundane everyday trip to the bank, or the walk to work. Then BAM! Something new happens and you realize there is love in your heart for people you have never met, or spoken to.
It hit me quite a solid one on this occasion, but I've realised over course of a few happenings last week, that fuck! there are people I need to check on, that I can't even find or contact or speak to. It hurts a bit!
A really large bit!
