The Yearning
Canine teeth albatross
You own none of my innovation
How little I think of your life
Suckling on my name
Your pain is irrelevant
One day you’ll take what’s mine
Our lands sown by thieves
Family ties that bind
I seen it when I was young
Torn palms only announce intent
Your grandfather once said
Love is a fallen word
Enlighten me
For what I did wrong
You will stand your ground
The earth kept spinning
As I laid waste to my father’s fortune
Raptured the gold from his belly
They landed as they may
Catatonic witch in tears
And I said mother how could you
For he took what he wanted
Offered less in return
So in his image
I’ll desecrate the corpse
Paint his lips into a taunting smile
Obtuse and profane
Enlighten me
For what I did wrong
See his sins growing within
You own none of my innovation
How little I think of your life
Suckling on my name
Your pain is irrelevant
One day you’ll take what’s mine
Our lands sown by thieves
Family ties that bind
I seen it when I was young
Torn palms only announce intent
Your grandfather once said
Love is a fallen word
Enlighten me
For what I did wrong
You will stand your ground
The earth kept spinning
As I laid waste to my father’s fortune
Raptured the gold from his belly
They landed as they may
Catatonic witch in tears
And I said mother how could you
For he took what he wanted
Offered less in return
So in his image
I’ll desecrate the corpse
Paint his lips into a taunting smile
Obtuse and profane
Enlighten me
For what I did wrong
See his sins growing within
