Beartrap

The stage is set
The pieces, unaware
A lifetime to prepare
Caught up in the act

The page is wet
A footnote without care
A toe dipped in a snare
Captured by the trap

Death in tempt
Flexes it's iron jaw
These bones are getting soft
No time to stop and wait

Echoing lament
Snuffed by it's lucky paw
Self reflection begins to gnaw
As hunter becomes bait

Steps to repent
Begging for it's mom
Silence sings it's song
Saving all it's grace

Exit stage left
Steel teeth pressured maw
Nature and it's laws
A random hand of fate
