Are Raindrops Ever Lonely?
Surely raindrops are never lonely,
Being that they always travel with family and friends
Though perhaps they lose their personality
As their droppiness merges
Into a puddle in the grass
Surely raindrops are never sad
One can't imagine they ponder much on
Death and taxes and unjust war
(If there were such thing as a just war)
Though they probably fight to breathe
Being all squished together
In their little puddle in the grass
Do raindrops notice when they're dying? --
When the sun warms the earth
And the grass begins to dry,
Do the raindrops just hop on board a passing sunbeam
And drift along lazily on the breeze?
Being that they always travel with family and friends
Though perhaps they lose their personality
As their droppiness merges
Into a puddle in the grass
Surely raindrops are never sad
One can't imagine they ponder much on
Death and taxes and unjust war
(If there were such thing as a just war)
Though they probably fight to breathe
Being all squished together
In their little puddle in the grass
Do raindrops notice when they're dying? --
When the sun warms the earth
And the grass begins to dry,
Do the raindrops just hop on board a passing sunbeam
And drift along lazily on the breeze?
