Afternoon Nap

On that lazy afternoon,
the wind rattles the windows
and we take refuge in the bed

Beneath the covers
calm
in the contact of skin

The flicker of the TV
merely a fading narrative
unable to hold interest

I push my finger
In the split,
And your mouth finds me,
pulls at my bottom lip

that warmth, all consuming
firing the intent,
our vessels readied
to be pleasingly spent.
