What Do You Want to Do

What Do You Want to Do

The inevitable
Quandry,
The constant
Question,
The vision
Quest,

There is
Always
That same
Bump
In the road.

If I don't
Have a plan,
I look weak.

If I do
Have a plan,
I look
Selfish,
Or pushy,
Or unlistening.

Plan
Or no plan?

I know what
I want
To do.

Do you want
To go
With me,
Or do
Your own
Thing?

I can't
Tell you
What
To do.

I don't want
Responsiblity
For what
Kind
Of mess
You get into
If you hang out
With me.

It might be boring,
Oh, well.

It might be
Loud,
Do tell.

It might be lazy,
So what?

It might
Not
Be anything
At all
But lying
Around
In a hammock
In front
Of a bonfire
Holding
Each other
Under the stars
On a coolish
Early spring
Evening.

Who knows?
Maybe
You've got
Something
Or someone
Else
To do.

Do what
You do.

But,
If you're
Here,
I'll be
Thinking
Of you.
