Opened I file I saved as [<3].
Decided to write in it.
I am 20 poems in to "Project Carceral Archipelago".
(Of a projected 100 pieces of poetry.)
I am thinking of trying to finish it in 2 weeks.
That sounds totally radical.
Why would I even conceive of such an endeavor.

So...
I was thinking about it. Like...
What I want for this project.
I thought of this article I read
about this gentleman who started
a business, after being released from the penitentiary.
It was in the exercise industry.
It was a workout based on the
workout he did in a cell.
I thought...
What about a book of poetry,
that sort of does that, but for the...
Heart, mind, soul, spirit.
Like a motivational sort of text,
to empower and inspire?
Because that's the angle
I am feeling...
Like...
Whatever has been established,
whatever wrongs and injustices there were & are...
I make Power from all things...
I make treasure from all circumstances...
I make Superhuman from from all humanness.
These things.
Oh... And I think the overarching theme,
or one of them, has to do with Knowledge.
Like how Knowledge can free you from slavery...
The illumination in any darkness.
And I think the prison setting is
a wonderful base, from which to convey these things.
I heard recently, this person say
how the worse places are hospitals & prisons...
Which has truth...
But I say... Also... These are places of Initiation.
Because it sort of conveys to person,
on a deep level, that there is something... "Other".
Like in the Hero's Journey... "The call to adventure".
So... Im following this path through the sections
I foresaw...
Oh...
And it always occurs to me how fascinated
people are with such places.
How "going to jail" is on people's bucket lists...
How it is engrained in popular culture,
which is another consideration...
Like how it is portrayed in music and movies,
and how many generations have endured this...
and how the populations have inflated bigly.
and how these things modify the experience...
but yes...
These are things I think of...

As someone who has had tangible experience on extended hospital stays, where there was supposed to be real distinct possibilities that I was not ever going survive leaving, I agree with your assessment of the hospital part...(knowing zero about prison, outside of the fictional stuff learned)
They are unique places where the spectrum of human emotion runs the gamut. The intensity of that is unlike anything else most people really understand, so glimpses of that via your beautifully developed poetic voice /style.... Well, it's a smart and clever idea that I look forward to seeing come to fruition.
(I take all my personal knowledge of hospital stays as well as what I've learned from my brother in law who was an ER nurse for about 20 years and now works for an outpatient VA facility and another really good friend of mine, who was an ER nurse in Saint Petersburg for a few years but left the ER after covid burn out and now works for hospice care.
To formulate my thoughts....)

of you hurting... In any way/at any time.
However...
I very much appreciate you sharing this.

Yeah... I truly believe that such
experiences are conducive to "initiation"...
Into the mystery schools.
I had a terrible ordeal, around junior high.
I ended up sort of going somewhere else...
and having a dream like shifting of images...
Which culminated in being in
a neck brace in an MRI machine.
I thought I was paralyzed...
That was such a heavy concept
to process...
But I was oddly calm...
I have always been that way,
in situations such as those.
I think I always had a belief in my destiny.
And deep down had no doubts.
Perhaps that effected the outcomes.
Because there were a few...
In fact... I could be dead... Currently.
(Perhaps probably there is purpose.)
But yes...
You really raise some thought provoking

You always make me think.
And I like that muchly.
