Love With Abandon - Notes Between Mother and Daughter (2)

Dear Mother
Yes, the rumors are true.
I gave him all I had to give,
some would say too easily.
I’m sorry if you’re disappointed.
The death of my friend
taught me life is short.
We must live while we have breath and
I feel most alive when sharing love.
I should probably be more careful.

Dear Daughter
You’ll never disappoint me.
I fear my life has been a disappointment to you.
You’ve seen me give myself too easily to love.
I do worry that you’ll share yourself with
someone undeserving of one so beautiful.
Be sure men treat you like the treasure that you are.

Yes, we must live while we have breath,
and yes, when your deepest desires say love,
then love fully.

Eat and drink in moderation.
Love with abandon.
