Image for the poem interloper of the soul

interloper of the soul

lingering in the shadows I sigh
tender feelings rise and I smile
memories of you at dawn
sleepy trespasser looking on
beholding my sleeping beauty
I awaken to find you gazing at me

I look deep into your eyes and know I'm loved
gentle interloper of my soul
taking your time knowing my intricacies
validation in a touch
you understand my blush

honesty in a moment
kisses in the evening
lead to something more
we connect in our depths

the sorrow of the morrow doesn't touch us
the glory of the dawn is ours
taking time to before the day takes hold
precious moments between a husband and wife
