Cat Sings a Lullaby
My vice, my hate and envy
my potent organic phenomenon
Worn and lame my soul
cries for division, like ions cascading across the water
fighting their magnetism
Splitting hairs with radioactive
waste, left nothing but a
parched life for the sorry bird
that used to feast on dragonfly's silence beyond the sun
Free me to shovel divinity
into hungry mouths
hear the gurgle from the sulking cat whose high on sedatives
struggling to sing soft lullabies
to a toxic moon
In the end don't look for me
I will be busy over here mending
the garment that hangs
on the trip wire
The one I will burn in the fire
then spell my name with its ashes
While they sew mouths shut
with this curved needle
pulled from my eye
