Old U.S. Hwy

Old US Hwy worn and patched
leads me into tomorrow
where my direction is unknown
Today, it depends on the wind.
Ancient watershed continues south from the hills where
I receive peace quickly interrupted by riverweeds and their annoying fluff causing me to hack
sounding like someone else
 from a distance

Frequencies sent out in vibrations create a confusion on  the FM dial  the silence breaks,  long enough
to hear it  say my name in vulgar tones and mock my existence.

I found it best to ignore those who dont believe in me
I have a long way to go
and much filigree to fasten
to this life after 60 that I
beautifully piece together with hemp, stones and gold filled adornment

I stopped wishing  you could
have been here
When my love for you vanished
My grip became weak I wasn't willing to deem myself invaluable
To me I am worth it and possibly
I am also valuable to someone who  collects outdated beauty
