the moon flower & the sun ~
...danced, a symphony of nature’s waltz
embraced, their hearts touched,
if only for a second
silencing her world of midnight’s cacophony
she longs for the sun’s warmth’s
to last…
to last.
that moment, passed,
all too soon, for the moon flower
the moon flower, imprisoned
in darkening storms,
just a cold, lonely flower
she waits…for the sun’s love, fleeting,
yet let's her heart dance, under his
shiny radiance.
slipping off her sorrowful mantle
till then not even the pixie's twinkling
star dust, their mischief, can’t
bring the moon flower to smile
she’s numb, heart locked
in cage…till the sun
holds her in his golden rays,
she begs for him to stay,
he teases her, opening her petals up,
the sun touches her with his passionate kiss,
like magick, the moon flower blossoms
she'll always drown
in his sea of fire
only the sun
can quench the moon flower's desire.
inevitably:
enter twilight's hour
though, she again, begs the sun to stay
he finally states, "you cannot implore me
to change,
i cannot remain,
i'll always want to play."
then he fades away,
she feels herself start to asphyxiate,
soft, moonbeam petals, kissed by emphatic night
fae’s lips…silken webs of dewdrops
like silvery teardrops…fall echoing her
withered, hopeless heart,
as emptiness pervades her soul.
till the next day…
when the sun greets the sanguine morn’
and his love for the moon flower…
begins again,
even if just for the day...
the moon flower,
and the sun…
she will always surrender to him...
now...
and forever.
