Graceful lady , poor but strong

She’s sitting outside in the winter days

and nights of saddened clouds

asking for helpful pennies and golden pounds

homeless , sometimes feeling helpless

but strong in her centred comfortable sometimes sunny space

graceful in a bluebell fashionable lovely light

sitting on her basket which she has cleverly weaved herself

 

she sits in a dress lacking in colour

a dress so tired from feeling the cold and rain

sitting , sometimes sad with her place in the world

wanting a comfortable cotton wool home

and many a chocolate mountain

but she sings her own song

singing like a bird , but with a tender sad leaf within

soulful and from the heart

 

she cannot speak in the accent accepted by the ruby rich merry men

or in the manner of the bluebells ladies in rainbow dresses

but look how she asks for helpful pennies and golden pounds

lacking in so much merry money

 

she still sings , she still has strength

wishes and wonderful dreams

strong in spirit even though she may sit on the basket in the cold

with a saddened dress

 

she wishes to move to a house with a comfortable cotton wool comfort

and many mountains of chocolates


she sings of how lucky and lovely it might be
